Hi, my name is Jessica. I've lost 136 lbs and 14 dress sizes since August, 2005. I would absolutely recommend this surgery to every person who needs it. I think patients should go to the WLSC because they are experts. They are wonderful, the whole staff is wonderful. They're very encouraging. They want to make sure you're doing it right and you're healthy and you're on the way to success. They want to make sure you succeed in the long run, and they're wonderful, all of them.
"The skinny me is coming out" - that pretty much says it all. There's a skinny me coming out. I'm excited about it and can't wait to continue on with it because this is a life changing thing. It's not just a short time fix - this has changed my life.
I had surgery on Friday (stayed overnight in the hospital), went home Saturday and was back to work on Monday. Knowing I had to pay for the surgery (my insurance wasn't going to cover it) I knew that I was important enough and that it was the best thing I could spend money on.
I pretty much eat anything I want to. I just eat less of it. It's your portion control - it's the most important thing. You're allowed to eat what you can and want, and it takes so little to satisfy your hunger. You pick and choose to eat only what you want, so you're never hungry.
My daughter is absolutely amazed. She is very excited about it. She loves the fact that I can play with her now and likes to tell people that her mother is getting smaller. We go to the park now like we never did before. It's great.
My weight loss has affected every aspect of my life. I feel more confident at work; I know that before I had the surgery that I was good at what I did, but now I show it to other people. I am a more confident person. It's amazing the things I go out and do now, the things that I was too embarrassed to do before. So, it changes everything in your life.
