I am stuck again at a plateau and it is wearing on me emotionally. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, Kathy

You have to be more determined than the plateau your body is going thru.  Whatever you do, do not let this get you down.  Focus on the positive changes you have made.  Maybe the pounds are not dropping, but maybe the inches are.  Think back to all of those compliments or questions you have received and note how far you have come and realize that this is just a brief hiccup in your weight loss journey because you have done a great job and will continue to do a great job.  Listed below are some things you might try in an attempt to break this plateau.

Make sure you are not eating the same thing every day.  Don’t eat the same amount of calories every day.  Eat 1200 today and 900 tomorrow, etc. to change it up.  Increase your protein intake, increase you water intake by 4 ounces a day for a while, and change up your exercise routine.  I like to do the elliptical each morning, but sometimes I switch to a spin class or only do 15 min. of cardio and then 15 min. of weight lifting.  Our bodies eventually figure us out so we have to play a game of tricking it.

Let us know how it goes.

Don’t be down.  I’m struggling this past couple weeks.  Seems like every time hormones kick in that my weight loss plateaus.  I’m still exercising and eating what I am supposed to.  It is just the way our bodies work.  I’m not disappointed because my clothes are still shrinking and I’ve been building muscle so I expected it.  IF you are doing things right, just give your body time to catch up and try switching your exercises and food choices to see if it kick starts it.

kathy,

Not sure if this helps coming from a guy but just dig in and keep doing what you have done to get here. Smiley & Jen gave you some great advise, the one I like best is CHANGE IT UP for a couple days that has helped me a couple times. PAT

It’s been too long since I’ve been on here, but thanks for all the advise. I am scheduled for another fill next week and then hope to start attending support group in Wichita at Genisis in October. It is hard being and hour away and with gas prices the way they are, but I have to do this for me!!!
