For those of you that have been at the last two OP meetings, you have heard my confessions of not really wanting to drink anything except, milk, oj and hot chocolate and the fact that I allowed an awful week to get the best of me and ended up gaining 5 lbs.  Actually, the 5 lb. gain is probably long overdue in rearing its ugly head as I started some bad behaviors during my birthday 4 weeks ago and just hadn’t given them up yet.

As of yesterday I am getting back on track.  Yesterday I did 60 minutes on the elliptical and burned 400 calories.  Today I tried a different kind of elliptical for 20 minutes and burned 200 calories.  I think I will stick with the new one, especially since it really did kick my butt and quads.  In addition to these 20 minutes I spent about 15 doing some weights.  Should have spent some more time on the weights, but school work was (and still is) calling.  I also drank about 72 ounces of liquid yesterday and have had 56 so far today, and water with additive as well as plain old water were a part of both days.

When I weighed this morning I had not lost anything since Saturday, but I am going to blame that on my kitten since she kept pouncing on the scale and batting at it which made it hard to get a good reading.  I know she only weighs 4 pounds right now because I weighed her on Sunday right before I put the dress on her that she hasn’t learned to like yet, but her 4 pounds can be painful when she jumps on me and her front paws land right on top of my port as my port does not have any padding over it.  Tomorrow morning I am going to weigh before I let her out of the bathroom and into my bedroom. grin

Hey there! Sorry I wasn’t at the meeting last week. I’m surprised at how much I missed it.

Congrats on getting back on track. With all my travel I’ve been doing lately, I’m WAY off track. I have a work trip this weekend, too, and I hope that life can get normal again after that. I just have to be sure to get my diet regulated and get back into the gym.

.. and 60 minutes on an elliptical?!!? Torture!

I also like the idea of blaming the cat for not losing weight. I have two of them, so does that mean I can count it double?

Thanks for the chuckle and motivation this morning.

Thought I would give you all an update, having gotten back on the track this past week the scales showed me down a pound and a half yesterday and another pound today both of which occurred without anything extra being on or playing with the scale.  So, I have lost almost half of what I had put on.  I think getting these 5 or 6 off is going to give me momentum to take off another 5 that my doctor suggested.

As for the cat, you can absolutely count double for having two cats. My cat has been a little confused by the fact that I have been doing a workout video the past two mornings.  She tries to chase my feet which just gets her stepped on and me praying that I won’t fall.  You would think that after yesterday’s trampling that she would have learned, but not so much because we had another incident this morning.  I used to put my hand weights on the couch when I wasn’t using them, but no more because she sits there and guards them so that she can attack my hands when I reach for them.  They are now placed on the counter between the kitchen and living room b/c she hasn’t learned to jump that high yet.

I just really need the warm weather to hurry up so that I can go outside for walks and the cat can be introduced to her new home in the great outdoors with other creatures that are more tolerant of kitten personality than I am.
