There’s no rule saying that a tailgate party is required to offer nothing but junk food. But, usually they do — leaving you feeling sluggish and guilty after eating, even if your team wins.

On this episode of Eating Right Every Bite with Chef Dave Fouts, get recipes for two great appetizers that include nothing but inexpensive ingredients. Some of them you probably already have in the kitchen.

While everyone looks forward to Thanksgiving, some of us never fail to leave the meal in a carbohydrate coma that lasts for hours. Who has not heard one of their family members groan with a “I’m about to burst”, or “It takes a week to prepare and ten minutes to devour” comment?

We’ll talk about some alternate food choices that won’t deprive you of your comfort foods on this holiday. Use food to focus on what is really important – being together with those you care for and being thankful for that.

We’ll meet at 7pm in the West Des Moines office on Thursday, November 19th. Please give us a call or e-mail to let us know if you can make it.

As always, we’ll have a taste testing and a door prize. Hope to see you then ....Dy
