REALIZE mySuccess website improves weight loss

Monday October 19 2009

Weight Loss Surgical Center's marketing rep from Johnson & Johnson, David Brucker, came to this month's Overland Park Support Group meeting to discuss the REALIZE Band's support website REALIZE mySUCCESS. He shared with the group a clinicial study that revealed that people who use the REALIZE mySUCCESS website were able to lose an additional 10 percent of their excess weight compared to their peers who did not use the site.

Support group participants learned about how to take advantage of the site's food, weight and excercise logs and how to use the online tools to communicate with their REALIZE Band care provider.

Even though the patients in the clinical trial only regularly did a few activities available on the site, Brucker pointed out that banded patients can work to enhance their success with weight loss with a whole variety of features.

One particularly interesting feature was the sites ability to graphically represent a patient's body contours over time. Brucker also said that patients can load in photos of themselves at various points in their weight loss to have visual references to what they looked like at particular weight milestones.

People interested in using the REALIZE mySUCCESS tools can sign up at http://www.realizemysuccess.com even if they do not yet have a band surgery scheduled.

Adam,

What do you know about the Lab Band Site? I think the Realize site is GREAT but very limited to me as a Lab Bad patient. Thanks for any advise.  Pat H.

Here’s a link to My LAP-BAND Journey, which is the online component for LAP-BAND. They offer a similar package of tools, though each option has its own set of benefits: http://www.lapband.com/my_lapband/
