We contacted the winner of our Mom Deserves More of Life LAP-BAND Giveaway yesterday, and she has agreed to come in to meet with the surgeon to discuss the next steps in her LAP-BAND journey. We'll make a public announcement of who the winner is soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
Thank you to everyone who entered their mothers or loved ones in the contest. There were a lot of very moving stories that made the selection process an emotional time for us. I also want to especially thank the finalists who came in for medical screenings and interviews last week. Thank you so much for sharing your time and stories with us. We met a lot of wonderful and interesting people with great life experiences and powerful aspirations. Just because we selected the winner, please don't think that it's your last opportunity to get more of life.
A representative from our insurance predetermination staff will be in contact with all of our finalists soon to discuss their insurance policies and see if we can help them to obtain insurance benefits for a more affordable LAP-BAND Surgery.
To everyone who entered -- or to anyone who may have missed -- the contest, a LAP-BAND Surgery may still be attainable, even if it's not in the cards right now. I'm happy to provide information to share with your employer or HR department as your insurance plans change to help convince them of the value of a bariatric benefit on your insurance plan.
If a better insurance plan simply isn't a possiblity, don't forget that Weight Loss Surgical Center does offer LAP-BAND financing options. While many people have been reluctant in the past year to take on a surgery loan, more and more people are selecting this option as the economy improves.

Welcome to the conversation, Cynthia.
Our winner is currently going through the approval steps with the surgeon and anesthesia. We’ll announce her name and introduce her after her surgery is 100 percent certain.
She’s doing us a big favor letting us in on her story, so we want to make sure that she’s not going to have any complictions that would prevent surgery before we introduce her. It’s rare for that to happen at this stage, and we want to protect her privacy until we’re 100 percent sure she’s going to be able to have the surgery.
As soon as I can let you know more, I’ll post it here and on our facebook page.

It varies greatly from person to person. Some people have insurance requirements to meet that can take awhile. Some people may need to go back to their doctors to get tests to make sure we’re fully aware of the patient’s health conditions before they go into the operating room.
Fortunately, our patient contestant has made it through approvals and is going to have surgery soon. I’ll update you as soon as she and I get together for an interview.
